Ausra Stankus, miniature painter, was born in Kaunas, in Lithuania. She received a diploma in fashion and design, but painting has always been her main passion, so she went on to take art classes to perfect her technique.
The main object of Ausra’s work is the Old Town. She is very drawn to miniature painting, which consists in reproducing a portrait r landscape on a small surface. The old town of Vilnius, a UNESCO heritage site, remains her main source of inspiration. The artist covers her canvases in the red rooftops of medieval homes and the steeples of Orthodox churches. She applies the same method to Paris landscapes that she transforms into pieces filled with emotion.
